home is where the quirky decorations are.

I am painfully in love with these lamps from The Lowercase. They feed perfectly my obsession for homewares, woodland creatures and pretty lighting. I don't care if maybe they were designed for a childs bedroom. I NEED that rabbit. And possibly the toadstool....the squirrel's cute too.....

Speaking of my obsession with homewares, I also stumbled across Third Drawer Down, which stocks fabulous homeware items that make my heart skip a beat, such as quirky tea towels, printed pillow cases and fun altered antique plates. If I was rolling in the cash / had my own home to decorate, I don't know how I'd be able to resist these little treats:

Lord help me the day I finally have a home to call my own. And children! Good grief.

i'm the ghost in the back of your head.

I've always been fascinated with the eerie, the supernatural, the idea of the unknown. I don't know what it is, the more mysterious and inexplicable, the more intrigued I am. You have to admit that there is a certain beauty behind these sorts of things - the fading flowers, the white victorian dresses, the black gritty photographs of a face in the window.... And from it all stems a feeling of peacefulness - haunting, quiet and beautiful peacefulness.

creams and pills, they got nothing on you.

Do you ever feel like you're not a real person? That you're a shadow of yourself, repeating things you've heard people say, doing things you know people will accept as socially normal? Like you don't have a  purpose and you're light years behind everyone else, rushing to keep up but still slipping behind?

Or is that just me?

my wizard scar still burns for you.

My sister is the biggest Harry Potter fan I know, and being around her brings out the worst in my own HP "enthusiasm". Today I bought some rhinestone glasses on eBay for a Harry Potter themed party I'm going to....in August. Now all I need is an outrageous green dress and voila! Rita Skeeter! Anyway, I would have kept this  (awkward) information to myself if I hadn't stumbled upon these hilariously dry (but sadly non-existant) books:

old fascination is feeding my frustration.

The latest is we have to get our internet completely reconnected - meaning it could take up to 10 - 20 days! I am dying of boredom and frustration... I had to come to the university library on a Saturday just so I could email my group project members (slash watch the latest episode of Angry Boys). So my poor little blog doesn't get completely neglected, I thought I'd post some pictures that have been saved on my hard drive - as I haven't had the opportunity to seek out any new inspiration! My apologies. I hope you enjoy anyway :)

be careful what you wish for.

So, my home internet has been down for three days now. Talk about a procrastination killer! At least I've gotten a lot of uni work done :) Thanks to the handful of lovely people who've left comments and followed me so early on, very much appreciated and I promise I won't let you down! Hopefully it'll be all sorted soon. In other news, my sleep doctor thinks I have narcolepsy! A good week all around haha. Hopefully yours has been better!!

crunch time.

Group projects are the worst. All I want to do is trawl the internet for blogs and new music. Thank god this is my last year of uni.

Procrastination tips:
  • Make lists (but Keep It Simple, Stupid)
  • Prioritise, make deadlines
  • Buy a calendar, or datebook
  • Budget time, allow for delays and only bite off what you can chew
  • "Just Do It!"
  • Find a motivator buddy, schedule reward time
  • Hope that Blogger goes down for a day, again ...
I'll start these tomorrow...

vive la french lookbook.

Latest obssesion (besides Jeremy Young): watching video lookbooks on Vimeo. I find them so inspiring, like I want to dress up and live a fabulous life to a constant soundtrack. Ah, a girl can dream. I've found two French inspired lookbooks for you to view here - watch, I guarantee any bad mood will be instantly lifted.

if i strum chords would you sing a song with me.

While browsing a new favourite blog - Oh Deer Vintage - I came across a post that expressed the authors "OH EM GEE" love for an Australian brand named Strummer. Now, having never heard of this brand, and also finding it unlikely that I would have the same reaction as her to the collection, I was completely caught off guard when I scrolled down to the images she posted - "OH EM GEE" was right (a saying that she never throws around, and nor do I, explaining just how gorgeous this clothing line is). My depression previously expressed at missing the sunshine and warm breezes went immediately out the window, as I am now completely inspired to replicate some of these looks for winter. Divine.
